Before Your Cat’s First Appointment…
First Time Clients
Please expect a text the day before your appointment asking you to click the booking link and ‘confirm’ your appointment. Kindly action that confirmation as soon as possible, but by no later than 2pm the day before your appointment. If you have an issue with the booked appointment, please make contact via email or call us to advise as soon as possible. We must receive confirmation from you the day before an appointment, or, after several failed attempts to contact you, we may need to cancel your appointment and your booking deposit will be forfeited.
If you do not receive a text reminder the day before, please feel welcome to call the studio and confirm your booking. If you do not receive a text reminder the day before an appointment, there is usually no booking in our system!
Cat Grooming Drop Off Instructions
We require all cats to be dropped off for their appointment with no collar/harness/lead, in their own hard carrier or cat specific crate that is similar to the following dimensions: approximately 35cm high, 30cm wide, and 50cm deep. The carrier must be in excellent condition, with no cracks, damage, or faulty doors. This ensures the safety of both the cat and our groomers. Soft carriers are not permitted as they pose a danger to both the animal and the groomer. If you are unsure whether your carrier meets these requirements, please email us prior to your appointment. This will allow us to provide guidance and prevent any issues on the day of the groom.
Please park in the carpark behind Barking Butler Grooming Studio.
Please do not go to the front entrance of Barking Butler, we like to keep our cat clients feeling as stress-free as possible before a groom, and so we do not ask them to arrive the same way our canine clients do. Special cats deserve a private entrance!
After drop off, you are more than welcome to pay a visit to the front of our studio and enjoy our beautiful retail offerings, in fact, we encourage you to!
We stock delicious cat treats for sale if you feel like treating your kitty post-groom… You can also ask your groomer to have these ready with your cat at collection.
After parking your car, please bring your cat to the Barking Butler Grooming Studio sign on the charcoal brick wall at the back of the shops, towards the middle of the buildings. You will see a doorbell at the sign. Press the doorbell to alert your groomer you are waiting at the ‘Drop-Off’ location.
Please wait at that Barking Butler sign at your appointment time and your groomer will be with you shortly. If you have waited a few minutes and your groomer has not arrived, feel free to press the doorbell again. We will likely be with an animal, so your patience is appreciated in the event of any delays getting to you and your cat. If you are still concerned that no one has met you, call the studio on 9368 1333.
If it is raining, feel free to simply wait in your car and call the studio. We will make individual arrangements with you over the phone for a safe (dry) drop-off.
Very important:
Please DO NOT open the door located to the left of our Barking Butler sign at any point, as this is the back door to our studio. This is very important due to safety reasons and the small but real possibility of allowing someone’s beloved pet to escape!
Please DO NOT knock on this door, either, as you will upset the animals inside that we are lovingly trying to keep as calm as possible. Not to mention, it only leads to dogs, and your cat will likely not appreciate the introduction.
Please simply press our doorbell button at the Barking Butler sign (you may not be able to hear it, but we will!) and your groomer will be with you shortly, or, alternatively, communicate via phone if you need to urgently reach our staff.
Cat Collection
Please keep your phone on you at all times during the appointment. Your groomer will text you 30 minutes before your cat is ready, which confirms the exact pick-up time, allowing plenty of notice to make your way back to the studio. Please collect your cat at this time. If your cat is not picked up within 1 hour of the pick-up text message being sent, a Day Care fee will apply. If you would like to take home a quality cat treat from our retail section, please advise your groomer who will arrange this for you.
Please also note we close at 4PM daily. If you are running late for collection, please let us know ASAP. A late pick-up fee of $15 per 15 minutes will be applied if you collect your cat after 4PM. On the rare occasion your cat is still being groomed beyond 4PM, no fee is applicable.
When you arrive to collect your cat, please go to the same place where you dropped off your cat to their groomer and ring the door bell once more. Your groomer will bring your cat back out to you in their crate, and provide a debrief on the day’s appointment. Payment will be taken here by physical card, or we can charge the card we have on file so your hands can stay free to be reunited with your beloved cat. Please try to let us know in advance if planning to use the card on file to pay.
